Priceless Memories - I love it when my girls simply "hang out" together. Though seven years separate them - they are the best of friends. One of their favorite things to do is grab a camera and have an impromptu photoshoot.
This layout features my "Fresh, Floral Fun Collection. Available at Natural Designs in Scrapbooking and My Memories. This was such a great color palette to work with - has to be one of my favorites!
Don't forget that all of my products at My Memories are 50% off through tomorrow. At Natural Designs in Scrapbooking, simply use the coupon code SPOTLIGHT to receive 50% off. Both of these special offers are through July 31st only - so head on over today!

Project 366 ~ Week 30!
Another super week in our household. We stayed pretty busy - especially towards the end of the week. (And we do like busy!)
This is my fourth year taking and scrapping "a picture a day". The first year I created my own album traditionally using my paper stash. In 2010, I used digital templates I created. In 2011, I purchased one of the Project Life Collections from Becky Higgins. And this year, I used my digital quick pages.
It has been so easy for me to stay current this year using my 366 Days in 2012 Quick Page Collection (available at NDISB and MyMemories) There are four sets of coordinating quick pages. At the end of the week, I simply open up the 'next' set of quick pages; add my pictures, the dates and days of the year (1-366) and a touch of journaling. It's that simple - and then, of course, I add the files to my "to be printed" folder (Have I mentioned that this is one of my favorite folders on my hard-drive?)
Do you participate in the "picture a day" scrapbooking trend? Traditionally, digitally? What makes it easy for you? Any challenges? Would love to know your thoughts!
Wishing you a beautiful week...by the Shore.

PhotoShop Friday ~ Live Life Out Loud!
Another Photoshop Friday and another layout in my 'to be printed' folder. Life is Good!
Don't forget that all of my products at NDISB are available at 50% off using the coupon code 'SPOTLIGHT'. At MyMemories, I have placed all of my product on sale at 50% as well. Both of these sales are in celebration of my two year 'Digi-Versary' and are through July 31, 2012.
The technique in this week's Photoshop Friday at jessicasprague.com was using a font to create an outline and using that same font as a clipping mask. (See the title: PAINT)
I used the template provided which was already 'rich' in elements from the talented designers at jessicasprague.com. I added papers from my Fresh Floral Fun collection available in both of my stores.

Little Works of Art
I have been part of an Artist Trading Card group for the last few years and simply love these little works of art. An Artist Trading card is 2.5" x 3.5" - the size of a baseball card; cannot be sold (hence the word 'traded') and they are created in a variety of media. I personally love combining a bit of digital along with my traditional stash of paper and elements.
In June, the theme was Feet, Flip Flops and More. I used my Toes in the Sand collection to make this card. I created the base layers in Photoshop, printed out the layers and a few elements, used some scissors (remember those?), added some dimensional adhesives to give the elements a bit of depth and a little bling! (Using digital collectionsalong with real paper and elements is known as 'hybrid' crafting) Here are my ATCs for the month of June.
We have a theme for each month - and members sign up for those months that they wish - no long term commitments. Themes have been as diverse as the members of the group - and even when we have a repeat theme, we are usually in a different place in our lives and therefore the artwork takes on a new flair. It is exciting to see everyone's take on the theme. I typically host the swaps - the cards are sent to me and I redistribute when they have all arrived. (so much fun to receive something in the mail other than bills!) If you are interesting in participating, please let me know (pamelarose@bytheshoredesigns.com)
And, I have a new facebook freebie which coordinates with this collection - a fun and flexible alpha! Head on over and pick up yours today before it goes in my stores.
Have a wonderful weekend...by the Shore.

Digi-Versary! (yes, I like fun new words)
OK, so Digi-Versary may not be added to next edition of Websters - but it's fun to say and fun to celebrate!
A few years ago I made the decision to branch out from digital scrapbooking and explore digital designing. What a great couple of years it has been. I graduated from both of the advanced digital design classes at jessicasprague.com, became a certified digital designer and was blessed to be part of a designers workshop in Utah with Carina Gardner earlier this year. I am currently in two fabulous online stores - Natural Designs in Scrapbooking and My Memories. The journey has been wonderful - I have met so many fabulous designers, digital scrapbookers, traditional scrapbookers and multi-media artists. And I know that this adventure has just begun and there is so much more fun ahead!
To celebrate my two year Digi-Versary - all by the Shore designs products in both of my stores are on sale through the end of July. Here are just a few of the collections and best sellers that you will find:
At Natural Designs in Scrapbooking - simply use the coupon code SPOTLIGHT when you check out. (by the way, check out the NDISB home page under the last few Spotlight Saturdays)
At My Memories, simply add your purchases to your cart - the items have just been discounted for you.
For my faithful followers, thank you for joining me on this digital journey.
Y'all rock...by the Shore.
(a new facebook freebie that coordinates with my just released collection 'Toes in the Sand' will be out tomorrow - this is your last chance to grab the free Fresh Floral Fun Add On - head on over now!)

Project 366 - Week 29
Over 200 days of daily pictures - and still going strong.
We have had another fun and busy week. I honestly would not have it any other way! It's hard to believe that in a month (give or take a few days) both girls will be in school. Cherishing this time together - summer is much too short.
Have a wonderful week - giving extra hugs to family, friends and loved ones ~ by the Shore.
(Don't forget that there are only a few days left to grab my current facebook freebie - and it fully coordinates with my Fresh Floral Fun Collection)

TOES IN THE SAND - a new collection
Introducing a new collection from by the Shore designs - Toes in the Sand
SAND TOYS(elements): NDISB MyMemories
PAPER PACK: NDISB My Memories
I love the color palette of this collection - so many possibilities - beachy or not! Here are a few layouts for inspiration. Beach Baby features a template by Tiffany Tillman (one of my favorites)
Suite Retreat showcases both papers and elements from the Toes in the Sand collection. I love the bold colors in this layout - perfect for this bold group of friends!
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do. If you haven;t downloaded my current facebook freebie - head on over now - a new one will be available later in the week (see that cute alpha above - wink wink - just saying)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend...by the Shore.

Photo Shop Friday with Fresh! Floral Fun!
Photoshop Friday at jessicasprague.com- and I actually did it on Friday (go figure)
This class used an overlay to create 'paper'. Can you see the luscious texture on the lighter pink paper in the background.
On this Photoshop Friday, I used the template as a starting point but made several changes (picture quantity and sizes, new elements and I recolored items to go better with my choice of papers. One of the best things about using templates is that they are so flexible. You can use them 'as is' - or tweak them to make them your own. Either way, another layout in my "to be printed" folder.
I used my Fresh! Floral Fun collection for this layout and am tickled with the way it turned out. You can find this collection at Natural Designs in Scrapbooking and at My Memories (and if you are an Etsy shopper - it is there too)
Hope you have a great weekend planned - highly unusual but I have nothing on my schedule (except church) so we'll see what I can get into...by the Shore.

P366 - Week 28
Week 28 of Project 366 and I am patting myself on the back for staying current in this album.
The year is flying by - 24 weeks to go. Honestly, I would be okay if we slowed down time a bit and stretched out the next few weeks.
Hope you are enjoying summer and spending time with family and friends. All too soon, the kidlets will be back in school, regular morning rush hour traffic will resume and the nip of fall will be in the air.
Breathe in a bit of summer....by the Shore.

PhotoShop Fridays!
Have I mentioned that I love PhotoShop Fridays at jessicasprague.com. Sure I know most of the techniques that are shared - but I don't always remember to use them, the templates are great and I am able to add another layout (or two) to my "to be printed" folder.
This first template/class was on creating your own photo strip (which I love to do on my layouts) I used a map from google on the background and added a few papers from designers at jessicasprague.com
If you look at the top left corner of the layout, I added an extra photo strip with random images from our trip to Chicago. If you look extra close, you might see that each image represents a letter of the alphabet, spelling out the word 'Chicago'. My daughter and I enjoyed this alphabet scavenger hunt through the city and are looking forward to trying it again. A fun way to see things around you a bit differently.
This PhotoShop Friday was on adding a calendar to a layout. I created a clipping mask for each date and it was super easy to add the pictures in as they were taken. This would also be a great layout to use as a cover page for a vacation album, or as an advent countdown at Christmas time.
I am now caught up on all PhotoShop Fridays for the year (I bought the entire bundle at once, saving a bit of money) I wonder what this Friday will bring.....You can also go back and purchase individual editions at any time, in case you see a template that catches your eye!

Traditional Card Making
Thought I would share some of the fun things I do with my real paper stash and stamp supplies. I mentioned a few days ago how I love the touch and feel of real paper and supplies. I have been enjoying making cards and am having fun mailing these to friends and family - the good old fashioned way. Who doesn't like to get something in their mailbox that is not a bill!
I have a local Stampin'Up consultant that held a wonderful class earlier this year developed by LeeAnnGreff. This has to be one of my favorites as it uses four sheets of cardstock as well as 10 blank cards to create 10 little works of wonder! And they went together in no time at all.
And yes, I do make digital cards as well. It's fun to use my digi-stash to make works of wonder too!
Have a great day...by the Shore.

Fresh Floral Fun - Inspiration
Earlier this month I released my newest collection - Fresh Floral Fun! The bright and playful colors of this collection are perfect for a variety of scrapbooking layouts and hybrid projects.
(also available separately)
This layout features a template from my good friend Barbara at Precepts and Promises. So glad that my girls get to spend time with their cousins during summer vacations. One of my favorite outside summer activities when I was a child was playing on a Slip and Slide. (yes, they even had these back in the pioneer days) One of the most awesome things I can hear my daughter say is "BEST DAY EVER". Definitely brought a smile to my heart and to my face!
We discovered a new local 'favorite' place to go - "Paint the Town". My daughters and I love to paint on these 16x20 canvases - exploring our inner Picasso. We will be filling up a wall (or two) in our rec room with these works of art. Can't wait to go back.
Have a fabulous weekend...enjoy time with family and friends....by the Shore.

Mixed Media
Yes, I love digital - both designing and scrapbooking. I am a computer geek 'wanna-a-be' and my laptop is my trusty friend. BUT......I also love real life materials - papers, paints, chalks, watercolors.....
I was also thrilled to finally meet one of my good online friends and fellow designers,Jeanie - of Jeanies Design Studio.
I loved to watch Donna work. She shared so many great techniques using a wide variety of papers, inks, pastels, watercolors, paints. The inspiration and technique books that we created are wonderful. If you ever have the opportunity to take a workshop from Donna IRL (in real life) I strongly recommend it. She also has many classes online - check out her website.
I could not wait to get home and "re-organize" my studio to include an area for mixed media. I pulled out so many of my old supplies that have been boxed away and even added a few new goodies to the mix. I LOVE GETTING MESSY!!!!
A few weeks ago I had the blessed opportunity to attend two workshops presented by Donna Downey in Fort Collins, Colorado. Both of the classes were on Mixed Media and I walked away with my head spinning with new ideas....

So, for those that are saying...I could never go digital, I love paper too much...please remember - you do not have to give up traditional scrapbooking or crafts. Add digital to your arsenal of supplies. Get messy with real paints once in a while. Find inspiration in other forms of artistry. Try something new!
Have a "messy" and creative day...by the Shore.

Basic Brown ~ Inspiration
Need some inspiration? Here are a few layouts using my recently released Basic Brown Collection, available at both NDISB and My Memories. The neutral brown tones in this collection will compliment so many of your photos, whether they are color, black & white or sepia.....
This layout uses a template from Simply Tiffany Studios - truly enamored with all of her templates! The paper and elements from the Basic Brown collection were perfect to showcase the many smiles of my daughter (even the goofy ones)
This next layout features my niece and nephew during a fun little photo shoot with "Simba" The neutral brown papers and elements allow the pictures to shine through and speak for themselves.
While this collection is monochromatic, I truly love working with color. So tell me - what's your favorite color combination for scrapbooking? Do you have a "go to color"?
Wishing you a colorful day...by the Shore

P366 - Week 27!
And we are now officially in the second half of 2012! Hard to believe - the time is flying by much too quickly.
And here is Week 27 of P366...
Would love to hear how you are doing on your own P366! I know that my family can be caught at any given time - going through our albums, again and again. Makes me happy when I see the smiles on their faces!
Have a great day...stay cool....by the Shore.

Photoshop Friday (7/6)
Thanks for stopping by the Shore. This past week, Photoshop Friday at jessicasprague.com included a template and lesson that I really enjoyed. While my own scrapbooking style tends to be clean and simple - the technique shared was to add a few background brushes as well as "paint" brush stokes to add a special touch. A bit out of my comfort zone - though I have to admit I like the end result. Need to add these techniques to my digi-arsenal of tricks.
Hope you have a fabulous week...by the Shore.

Awwww - another Photoshop Friday
Last month - my husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary - and this edition of Photoshop Friday was simply perfect to honor this special occasion.
While we were visiting family out East, we made sure to stop by Memorial Chapel at University of Maryland. Twenty years ago we shared our vows in this chapel and I would do it all again. (Georgie even found an open door to the chapel and 'made' me walk down the aisle to Dave who was waiting up front. While not planned, that walk made me shed a few happy tears.)
I love Photoshop Friday at jessicasprague.com. The techniques shared (in both video and a pdf file) are a great refresher for those that routinely use Photoshop - and simple enough for new Photoshop users. And the best part....another layout in my 'to be printed' folder.
Have a great day - and if you are here in the USA, Happy Fourth of July...by the Shore.

Project 366 - Half Way there!
Can you believe that 2012 is half way over and we still get to look forward to another half a year of fun and blessings!
Here are my P366 layouts for weeks 25 and 26. It is such a great feeling knowing that my layouts are current for this project and that I have added them to my "to be printed" folder.
For those that are new to my blog - these P366 Quick Pages feature my Beautiful Music Collection. (The Beautiful Music Collection and P366 quick pages are available at both of my stores - NDISB and MyMemories) I am 100% convinced that using these quick pages is the tool that is keeping me on track and current for 2012 Project 366! Super Easy!
Don't forget to head back here to my blog on July 6th to download some digital goodness. My contribution is part of a special Summer Blog Hop that will be here for only 3 days!
Till tomorrow - have a beautiful day...by the Shore.
