Chicago Bound

Can't wait to see all there is to see at the CHA SuperShow and experience SPRAGUEFEST 2010.

"See" you when I get back - hope to be able to share new and exciting things in the digital scrapbooking world. (and who knows, I may find a new craft I just "need" to try)

Congratulations and a Blog Hop

Congratulations to Jessica Sprague (at www.jessicasprague.com) She has been recognized as one of the Most Influential Scrapbookers (2010 awards) by Ella Publishing Inc. While I have been a digital scrapbooker for 4-5 years, it has only been since I started taking classes at Jessica's website that my passion for digi (along with my skills) has grown.

Do you like to Blog Hop? Do you like to win prizes? Go to: http://www.ellapublishing.com/misa

You can find out more about the 9 Fabulous Women that are being recognized for their contributions to the scrpabooking industry. You can also explore the blogs of each of these nine women and win prizes.

Have a great day...

Two New Digi Layouts

Attached are two digital layouts I worked on this weekend. This one used a "quick page" by Nisa Fiins. Quick pages are so easy, you simply put your photos below the page (a png file); journaling and title on top - and you are "done"

This is one I created for the weekly JS Challenge at http://www.jessicasprague.com/. We had to use 3 specific colors and use something that looked "stamped" on the page. The papers I used are a preview to a future "by the Shore designs" kit.

Celebrate Good Times

This summer - my journey has been in digital design. I enrolled in an exclusive class at JessicaSprague.com ~ The Art of Digital Design. (I have taken MANY of her other classes and this is truly the best one yet) The class started on the first full day of summer break for the kiddos - so balancing the class was a challenge, but do-able. I passed the graded exam last week which covered the essentials - with flying colors. Today I received the critique of my submission of a digital kit. So positive and encouraging. I am PSYCHED!!!! These were the two components to the final exam and though I am waiting for the certificate - I am now officially a jessicasprague.com certified digital designer. I am working on getting my kits in an online store and /or etsy. I hope to have a freebie or two here shortly. In the meantime - thanks for letting me share my good news with you! Stay tuned for more info!

Digi or Traditional

I often hear from fellow scrappers how they could never go digital and give up paper. Wanna know a secret - neither can I. I love the feel of paper, elements and playing with my many scrapbooking tools (yes, I am a gatherer) - almost as much as I love creating a layout digitally.

My albums are 12x12 and they are a mix of traditional pages and digital. I simply create my layout using the method that 'speaks' to me at the time. No rights, no wrongs. And yes, my albums are chronological when assembled - but I do scrap out of order. I have learned that when I am in the mood to scrap a specific layout or event - I do it. I would rather get memories preserved, regardless of the order - than to run into a mental roadblock and not get anything done.

I had a few minutes this morning to play in my scrap studio - here is a quick and easy layout I completed - the 'old fashioned' way. (team photo blocked for the privacy of the other kiddos) Thanks for stopping by!
