New Layout

I love how quick and easy digital scrapbooking can be. Here is a layout I worked on this morning using a "paper" sketch by MME. Challenge was issued by Paper Patch Crafts over on facebook - I had to use the sketch provided and the colors Teal, Purple and Pink. My digi papers from "Sisters Forever" were the perfect fit for this challenge.

Every Day is a New Adventure

I have been having fun designing and have missed actual digi scrapping. So, this afternoon I changed my "digi-hat" and returned to basics for a few days! Here is a quick layout I created earlier today - simple and clean. The paper and elements are Crystal W's Rainbow Sherbet collection (over at www.jessicasprague.com) The challenge was to create a layout about an adventure....

...think about your life; what in your daily grind, everyday life is your adventure?
1. Make a layout about your own personal adventure.
2. Using a photo (or several) is optional.
3. Journaling is not! You must include journaling about your adventure.
4. Use at least two different fonts in your layout.

This was a layout I have had in the back of my head and the challenge was a gentle nudge..

Spraguefest 2010

Spraguefest 2010 ~ AWESOME!

Following the CHA SuperShow, several of us from the jessicasprague.com site met in downtown Chicago for Spraguefest 2010. What an incredible time - meeting digi-scrappers and designers who (for many of us) had never met before IRL (in real life). And each person was as genuine, knowledgeable, helpful and fun as they are on the messageboards. There were several of us that had spent the last few months together (at least virtually) during the Art of Digital Design class ~ Kelly, Ann, Donna, Gary, Lisa, Meg, Jana, Joan and a few more. Getting to know Jessica Sprague, Carina Gardner and the rest of the JS crew was wonderful. Kim, Susanne, NannaJean, Susan, Rosemary are a few more special gals I enjoyed getting to know. (and I know I am forgetting someone so please forgive me) We spent Sunday exploring downtown Chicago on a walking tour - Millennium Park, the "Bean", the water fountains, and learning the historical perspective of the city from a Chicago native. What a beautiful city. During our stay there - crews were filming Transformers 3. They had a few blocks blocked off from traffic - and the special effects created on the sets were awesome. (a few of the spraguefesters even got a glimpse of Patrick Dempsey) We went on a boat tour in the afternoon - a leisurely ride where we could view and truly appreciate the awesome skyline of the city. We enjoyed some fabulous popcorn (cheese and caramel mixed - to die for) ate at Tavern in the Park, Italian Village, Billy Goat Tavern (think cheezborger, cheezborger, no pepsi-coke) and a few more great places. On Monday, we gathered for an album class and got started on dig-scrapping the many pictures each of us took. Kelly and I headed out on Monday afternoon after lots of hugs and farewells. The trip was simply fabulous - memories and friendships that I will cherish for some time to come.
(I will post more pictures of Spraguefest 2010 and the CHA Supershow over on facebook - come on over and take a peek here - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Colorado-Springs-CO/By-The-Shore-Designs/146483665365414?ref=sgm) And while you're there, follow me on facebook.

CHA Supershow in Review

WHAT A FABULOUS TIME IN CHICAGO!!!

I had the blessed opportunity to attend the CHA Supershow in Chicago at the end of July. It was absolutely fabulous. I met some friends from the Cricut messageboard that I have chatted with for almost 2 years as we supported and encouraged each other with Project 365. Kelly and Aprile were even sweeter than I had imagined. We began Project 365 in January of 2009 and are all still going strong today. And Aprile's bestest BFF was just as sweet. We all enjoyed exploring the different vendors throughout the two day show, participating in some great "make and takes", a bit of shopping and learning lots of fun new crafting techniques. I was please to meet Jessica Sprague (from JessicaSprague.com) and what a doll she is - so bubbly and enthusiastic. And I would be spending more time with the Spraguefest crew during the days following the SuperShow. All in all - a great two days.
