1,2,3 Scrap!

Checking my calendar - yes, it's the third Thursday of the month - time for our 1,2,3 Scrap! challenge.

If you are new to the challenge, the “rules” are simple – I will provide three ‘requirements’ for your layout – and you take it from there. It is great to see how different each layout is from the others. This month’s challenge will focus on the photos in your layout….

Are you ready…..

1. You will use two and only two photos. One photo should fill most of the page and the second
photo will be significantly smaller.

2. Photos may not be the same “shape”.

3. The smaller photo should have a minimum of 3 mats/layers between it and the background layer.

Everything else on the layout is fair game. When you are done, please post your layout in the 1,2,3 Scrap! gallery – here

Each participant that completes a layout following this month’s 1,2,3 Scrap! challenge will receive a coupon for my recently released Photo Mask Collection (shown below) In order to receive the coupon, I simply ask that you post your layout before July 5th in the 1,2,3 Scrap! gallery and provide a link here in the 1,2,3 Scrap! forum at Faith Sisters.
.

I look forward to seeing what you design! So, ready to go?….1,2,3 Scrap!

Providence 365 - Week 24

This is one of my favorite times of the year! Monday begins our annual Vacation Bible School ~ a community outreach that touches between 300-400 kiddos fifth grade and younger. Our children love this week as they get to know Jesus and that God loves them so much. Our volunteers (over 150 students in 6th-12th grade and adults) are a blessing to our church, our community and to the children. And EVERYONE has fun! This year’s theme is PANDA-MANIA! (I simply love Group's VBS programs - they are the best!)

We know that for some children – the church is their second home, their ‘other’ family. They know that God loves them and they look forward to learning more about Jesus each week – in the church and at home. For other children, this is the only time of the year that they enter a church. If we reach just one child and help them see that Jesus is their best friend – then the week is a success! Maybe we just spark a little flame in their heart and soul that makes them want to learn more – another success as it’s a great start. And the more the merrier – our ultimate goal is that all of these children know Jesus, and know that he is our Savior.

As a leadership team, we start planning after the last VBS, documenting lessons learned and beginning preparations for the coming year. There are so many behind the scenes activities to make this special week happen – and with His help, it all comes together. Each leadership meeting begins and ends with prayer – and He is with us every step of the way; guiding us, preparing us and ensuring that nothing is overlooked.

As we have gathered for the past several months – and as we gather this coming week – we remember:

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20

When surrounded by hundreds of children and volunteers for five straight days, three hours a day ~ how wonderful to remember that we are not alone – He is right there with us! Where are you gathering this coming week?

Please enjoy this word art and have fun with your layout this week!

have a wonderful week - wherever you gather...by the Shore

Love a Speed Scrap

I love speed scraps - a fun way to challenge yourself to get something done and in your "to be printed" folder.....the only thing better than ONE Speed Scrap is to participate in TWO - just days apart.

This is a layout I completed during a Speed Scrap hosted by Precepts and Promises (Barbara) at Faith Sisters. She provided this lovely mask - which was perfect for this theme. The best part was being able to remember someone near and dear to me - totally had a smile on my face as I cherished a few memories.

The next speed scrap was hosted at Jessicasprague.com by "mymalloryboys" of the JS Creative Team. Another layout that brought smiles as I pulled it all together. My girls are ever so precious to me (and I tend to take a lot of photos - go figure)

Here is a preview of my Playful Collection - and it is available HERE at Faithsisters. If you have never participated in a Speed Scrap - I encourage you to step outside of that comfort zone. They are fun and easy! The host/hostess of the speed scrap provides prompts every few minutes letting you know what to add to your layout (and how). You have no idea what is coming next, you move forward in faith that it will all come together (and you know what, it almost always done!) Speed scraps are typically an hour in duration - and it is an awesome feeling to hit "save as" and know that you have another layout to add to your collection!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend.....by the Shore.
